All of these folks are dear to my heart because of their work for better stories and happy endings.  Supporting them makes my own story richer and more complete.

Kitten Dot supports Emancipet because she has been so sick. She dreams of a world where ALL pet parents can afford to take their furry family members to the vet when they need to.

Leo Cat has supported Best Friends Animal Sanctuary for the last 18 years, because he was rescued from an aluminum extrusions plant in Carrollton, Texas. He dreams of a world where every animal has a warm, safe place to call home.

Kitten Sophie supports the Austin Humane Society because they rescued her and helped her find her home with Dot and Leo.  She's very happy there (when she's not getting into trouble).

I've been a supporter of Sea Turtle, Inc. on South Padre Island, Texas, since I met Ila Loetscher and her two favorite turtles in 1990.  Ms. Loetscher died years ago, but her passion project has helped change the fate of sea turtles in this part of the world.

I love the way my local YMCA fosters community through its dedication to diversity and inclusion.

EMILY's List When men are still 81 percent of Congress, 75 percent of state legislatures, 88 percent of governorships, and 100 percent of US presidents over the past 230 years, the best thing we can do to end the "boys' club" of American politics is elect more women.  End of story.

Women for Women International. I performed with Echo Theatre at a fundraiser for these folks many years ago, reading aloud the words of women around the world who are supported by this program.  I've been matched with a "sister" ever since.

TXMPA advocates for economic and creative incentives for all forms of media production in the state of Texas, educating folks about the tremendous economic impact such work has on all Texans.

Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media is a research-based organization working to educate and influence content creators, marketers and audiences about the importance of eliminating unconditional bias, highlighting gender balance, challenging stereotypes, creating role models and scripting a wide variety of strong female characters in media that influences children ages 11 and under.   "If she can see it, she can be it."

And, of course, I support numerous live theaters in my community, both financially and in person. When was the last time YOU went to the theatre?  Try it! (I bet you'll like it!)
